People often think that healthy eating is an all or nothing
recommendation. But really, the key to being healthy is being moderate. Moderation is all about being reasonable. Despite what certain diets that are in trend now would have you fall for, we all need a reasonable proportion of everything - carbohydrates, protein, fat,
fiber, vitamins, and minerals to sustain a healthy body.
The goal of healthy eating is to develop a daily routine that you can
use for life, not just until you've hit your
desired weight. Even some of us think that eating less is the way to be healthy. Healthy
eating habits can be learned and can be formed as a habit. It is important to think about
food as nourishment rather than just something to take in between meetings
or on the way to school.
Healthy eating is an important part of maintaining good health, and can help you feel your best. Being healthy is an easy task. You just need to make healthier choices. It’s recommended that we eat at least five portions of different types of fruit and veg a day. Try to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables every single day and with every meal. Choose deeply colored fruits and vegetables because they contain higher dosage of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
Cut down on drinks that are high in sugar such as soda, alcoholic drinks, etc. Same goes with cakes, cookies and pastries. We need to cut down on sugar but rather stick to foods that have natural sugar such as fruit and milk. Eating breakfast is very important as it helps to jumpstart your metabolism so I discourage you skipping it. I used to think that skipping breakfast can help lose weight. A nutritious breakfast is an important part of a balanced diet, and provides some of the vitamins and minerals we need for good health.
