Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender Essential Oil is most commonly known for its soothing effects on the body. The fragrance is calming, relaxing and balancing. Lavender oil is extracted mostly from the flowers of the lavender plant. The flowers of lavender are aromatic in nature and some may have been using it for making potpourris for a long time. Lavender essential oil has also been used in making perfumes as well as aromatic candles. The oil is very useful in aromatherapy. I love the Lavender Essential Oil’s deep rich scent and I promise you will be drawn to the fragrance immediately.

Did you know that the benefits of Lavender were discovered by  a French scientist, René Gattefossé. He was severely burned in a laboratory accident and placed his hand in a vat of Lavender. Gattefossé found that Lavender Essential oil can heal the wound quickly with no scarring!

There are a lot of ways on how to use the Lavender Essential Oil. Here are some examples:

  • If you have an oil burner at home, fill the top dish with water and add a few drops of Lavender Essential oil. Place a lit tea light candle underneath the dish. You can use it in the bedroom, living room or any part of your house. This is a very good way to receive the benefits of the Lavender essential oil. It is also good to use when you have a cold or if you feel unwell.
  • If you have tired feet from a day's work, add a few drops Lavender Essential oil to a basin of warm water and soak for a few minutes.
  • The Lavender Essential Oil can be used for massage whenever you have tight and sore muscles. The oils will be absorbed quickly into the blood stream, assisting the body and mind. Just add a few drops of Lavender Essential oil to a good quality carrier oil. It can also be used to babies and elderly.
You can also use the Lavender Essential Oil for:
  • Calming
  • Helping you to sleep
  • Insect bite
  • Minor burn
  • Cuts
  • Eczema / Dermatitis
  • Motion sickness
  • Nosebleed
  • Dry skin
  • Chapped or sunburned lips

Lavender essential oil can definitely uplift your mood, heal and attract in a lot of ways. I do recommend to always carry a bottle of Lavender essential oil at all times! It is one of my favorite essential oils because of its extraordinary qualities and its fragrance. It is a calming, relaxing oil, which helps relieve stress, aids with cold, flu and other ailments.
